Women's Theme 2009

"And now, my daughter, don't be afraid. I will do for you all you ask.
All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of noble character.
Although it is true that I am near of kin, there is a kinsman-redeemer nearer than I."

OPEN THE FLOODGATES IN 2008

Think of the areas of life- spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially - and see where you are.

1. What projects do you have that need completion - what have you started and stopped - do you want to take it with you in 2008?
2. What do you want to have that you presently do not have?
3. What do you want to do that you are presently not doing?
4. What do you want to be that you are presently not being?
5. Things that you wanted to start and have not started?
6. Things that you want someone else to get/ do/ be- that they have not gotten/done/or been?
7. Things that you wanted to change but did not - do you still want to change these things in 2008?
8. Things that keep recurring that I want to stop in 2008?
9. Things I want to say and get off my chest before the end of 2007- Do you still need to say them?
10. Things that I want to say but do not know how to say- do you still need to say them?

Advent (from the Latin word adventus, meaning "coming") is a season of the Christian church, the period of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Christ, in other words, the period immediately preceding Christmas. It is the beginning of the Western Christian year and commences on Advent Sunday. The Eastern churches begin the year on 1 September. The progression of Advent may be marked with an Advent calendar reckoning Advent to start on 1 December, a practice introduced by German Lutherans.

Latin adventus is the translation of the Greek word parousia, commonly used in reference to the Second Coming. Christians believe that the season of Advent serves a dual reminder of the original waiting that was done by the Hebrews for the birth of their Messiah as well as the waiting that Christians today endure as they await the second coming of Christ.
